A Word About Sovereign Grace Bible Chapel...
Sovereign Grace Bible Chapel is not just another church. We are distinctively different. We believe very strongly that we exist for the purpose of bringing glory to God, therefore, we endeavour to do all that we do to His glory (1 Corinthians 10.31). This means that we are a God-centered body, not a man-centered body. We believe that this comes through in our worship and in all of our other activities.
Sovereign Grace Bible Chapel began meeting as Grace Fellowship Church on October 3, 2004 with a desire to establish a work that was built upon the solid foundation of God's Word. It is our belief that the Word of God is our only authority in all matters of faith and practice. We seek to do all that we do under the authority of Scripture. You can learn more of what this means by reading the Distinctives of Grace page which you may reach from the "Resources" section of the menu located at the left side of this page.
We would like to extend a very warm and sincere invitation to you and your family to come and worship with us this Sunday. Our service times are 10 AM and 6 PM. Child care is available in both services for children under three years of age. We also have Bible Study classes for all ages groups on Sundays at 9 AM.
New Sunday Morning Study - The Way of The Master
On the first Lord's Day in October [October 2, 2011], Sovereign Grace Bible Chapel will begin a new study for our teenager and adults during the 9 AM Bible Study time. We will be doing a study of The Way of The Master by Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron. The focus of this study is the responsibility of every believer to evangelize the lost. Please make every effort to be a part of this very important study of the Lord's Great Commission.
New Men of Grace Study
Our Men of Grace will begin a new study on the first Tuesday in October. We will be doing of study of Charles Spurgeon's book The Soul-Winner. This is a study about the Bible's teaching on evangeling the lost. We will meet each Tuesday night at the office of Pastor Mark at 7 PM. If you have any questions, please call Pastor Mark at 473-8464.
Ladies' Bible Study - How People Change
How People Change, authored by authors Timothy S. Lane and Paul David Tripp, challenges and equips participants to live out the gospel in their everyday lives. This course helps people to understand the underlying motivations for their actions and gives them specific, practical help in changing long-standing patterns of behavior, so they grow in love for God and others. Each lesson includes teaching, homework discussion, CPR, Central truth/Personal application/Relational application, detailed illustrations, group discussion guide, and "Make It Real" life applications.
This study will be foundational for the next study that we do, Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands.
The ladies will meet the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings of each month at the Gardens of Gulf Cove clubhouse located at 6464 Coniston Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33981 from 7 pm - 8:30 pm. The introductory session will be Thursday, October 6th.
The cost of the study is $25.00. If you want to invite other ladies to the study, it is important that they begin the study with us so that they do not get behind. We will not be able to add new ladies to the course after the second week. If you have questions, please contact Kristy at 474-9870.
